Salwa Galal, LMHC (She/Her)

Salwa Galal is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) working as a Psychotherapist for And Still We Rise, LLC.

As a person from the SWANA (Southwest Asian/North African) region and a daughter of immigrants, Salwa is passionate about cultural representation in the mental health field which she believes is crucial to making therapy and healing accessible to all communities. She believes that facilitating healing cannot happen without acknowledging physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, communal, and systemic factors that impact us. She is particularly passionate about immigrant and BIPOC advocacy, destigmatizing mental health in the Middle Eastern culture, and addiction education and overdose prevention through harm reduction.

Salwa has a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in addition to being a certified yoga instructor and licensed esthetician. She has experience working with adults with co-occuring substance use diagnoses as well as adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, utilizing a trauma-informed, person-centered, relational, mind-body approach that supports the self-actualization of her clients. Salwa offers individual and group therapy focusing on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, addiction, trauma, and identity exploration.

In her free time, Salwa enjoys spending time with her family as well as traveling, reading, cooking, practicing yoga, and exploring in nature.
