Wesley Cook, LCSW (He/Him)
Wesley Cook (he/him/his) is a psychotherapist for And Still We Rise. He completed his undergraduate work at Hollins University where he obtained a BA in Sociology. Wes then received his Masters in Clinical Social Work from Baylor University.
Wes is a Queer transman and has a love for creating and experiencing belonging in the queer community. He has a passion for queer and gender affirmative care and a desire to work with the LGBTQIA+ community. Wes has experience working with individuals across the life span but loves working with youth, adolescents, and young adults. Wes is trained in trauma-informed care and focuses on intersectionality in his practice while working with clients with a variety of cultural identities and backgrounds. Wes has experience in working with depression, trauma, grief, anxiety, gender dysphoria, and other life stressors. Wes provides EMDR, Sandtray, Play, Solution Focused, Narrative, and CBT therapies.
Wes loves to be involved in his community. He plays softball and kickball for a queer team whom he refers to as his chosen family. He is most often spending time with his partner, three cats, and pitty pup. Wes also loves video games and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
