Dr. Tarra Mitchell (She/Her)

Serving as a  Consultant at And Still We Rise, LLC, Dr. Tarra Mitchell is Washington state based educator and leader that has served the Washington community for over 15 years. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President/Executive Director of City Year Seattle/King County, Dr. Mitchell is committed to interrogating existing systems to determine ways to not just disrupt the institutional oppressive structures that exist, but to also work in community to rebuild new systems that provide opportunities for underrepresented populations to exist and find pathways to thrive in spaces that were previously inaccessible. Dr. Mitchell provides leadership coaching, facilitation, and mentorship.

Dr. Mitchell earned her Bachelor’s and Masters of Mathematics Education from Western Governors University, and her doctoral degree from University of Washington In the K-12 educational space as a 6th - 12th grade teacher and coach, and a leader at elementary, middle and high school, and as a Special Education Director for the largest district in Washington State.  In the University  space, she has taught undergraduate mathematics, teacher certification mathematics courses, principal certification courses, and doctoral program courses.  

In her free time, Dr. Mitchell enjoys spending time with her family, putting together puzzles and trying new restaurants.
