Nani Swaminathan, MSW LCSW (They/Them)
Senior Liberation Consultant for And Still We Rise. Nani Swaminathan, MSW LCSW (they/them) serves as the Director of Survivor Services for The Center for Hope and Healing, Inc. in Lowell, Massachusetts. Holding a Master of Social Work from the Erikson Institute in Chicago, Nani works to support and advocate for survivors of gender-based violence in their journey to healing.
Nani's clinical practice is rooted in honoring lived experiences, connecting deeply through relational practices and psychodynamic frameworks, and utilizing ecological systems theories to support individuals with transformative healing. As a non-binary, queer, Tamil/South Asian therapist, and social worker, Nani believes that accessible, equitable, and decolonized mental health services can be achieved by attuning more deeply to culture, systemic oppression, and social/emotional development. They believe that by centering the voices of the historically marginalized and oppressed, intergenerational healing is possible.
They currently reside on the native lands of the Agawam and Nipmuc people. You can often find Nani wandering the aisles of a bookstore for a new purchase, with an extra large coffee in their hands, and a growing pile of unread books at home.
Nani is fluent in English.
