Michael Chehab (He/Him)

Michael Chehab is a civil rights attorney, policy advisor, and youth justice consultant committed to dismantling systemic harm through trauma-informed, equity-centered strategies. With over a decade of experience spanning juvenile defense, public policy, and community advocacy, he brings a multidisciplinary approach to reforming carceral and youth-serving institutions.

Michael’s work began at the juvenile prosecutor’s office and evolved through roles as a public defender, civil rights advocate, and legislative consultant. He has partnered with local and state officials to advance reforms in juvenile justice, indigent defense, and reentry policy. At Wayne County’s Juvenile Detention Facility, Michael has worked to redesign policy and develop educational and financial literacy programs for incarcerated youth.

At And Still We Rise, Michael evaluates juvenile justice practices, facilitates systems-level improvement, and supports the development of culturally responsive evaluation frameworks. His consulting work is grounded in legal expertise, policy fluency, and a commitment to community healing.

Michael holds a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from Wayne State University. Outside of work, he enjoys escape rooms, travel, and creative writing.
